The Ministry of Housing, Informal Human Settlements, Lands & Surveys and Physical Planning is hosting a series of Consultations to present the draft National Land Policy
The first session was held yesterday at the Georgetown Secondary School, targeting stakeholders from Peruvian Vale to fancy including Greiggs, Lauders, Lowman, Diamonds, Park Hill, South Rivers, Colonarie and Byera.
Tomorrow it will be the turn of stakeholders on the leeward side of the island.
The session will be held at the Barrouallaie Learning Resource Centre for
Stakeholders from Chateaubelair to Vermont. The session begins at 6pm.
The Ministry says the next session is planned for May 27th in Clifton,
Union Island for persons in Union Island, Canouan and Mayreau
And on Thursday May 29th the final Consultation will be held at the
Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.
This session begins at 9am and will be attended by representatives from
Statutory Bodies, Government Departments and the Bar Association.
A National Land Policy Committee was established here in December last year, which will act as the Implementing Agency for the Land Policy Project.
The Project is aimed at achieving enhanced sustainable development in the OECS, through the formulation, adoption and implementation of comprehensive land policies.
