A call has been made for the relevant stakeholders in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to expedite the process of creating projects to access funds which will be used in the country’s fight against Climate Change and its effects.
This call was made during yesterday’s official launch of the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA) Project on Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Land Management for St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
The project, which is supported by the European Union to the tune of 10.6 million Euros, targets all nine OECS member states.
Project Team Leader from the OECS Secretariat, Chamberlain Emmanuel highlighted that the funds have not been earmarked to be divided equally among the countries and he is appealing to countries to access these funds to develop their projects as Climate Change continues to negative affect the region.
