St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Ambassador to CARICOM Ellsworth John has said that this country’s work on the implementation of the CARICOM Single Marketing and Economy has been lauded by other countries in the region.
Ambassador John made this statement, as he addressed the opening of a consultation last week which was held to develop the CARICOM Trade and Competitiveness Project (CTCP), which is being funded by the Government of Canada.
The consultations took place over two days with a number of local and regional delegates discussing the way forward for the regional movement.
Ambassador John said the work which has been done my St. Vincent and the Grenadines is so exemplary that a number of other countries in the region have been using the framework laid down by this country as best practices in developing their own national programs in relation to the CSME.
Ambassador John said while there some areas where St. Vincent and the Grenadines is lagging behind, they are continuing to work assiduously to address these issues on the regional integration agenda.
