A regional Met official has emphasized the need for a greater level of cooperation between national and international weather services to improve the accuracy of weather predictions.
This was highlighted by Science and Technology Officer at the Trinidad-based Caribbean Meteorological Organization, Glendell Da Souza.
He is leading a delegation from the U.S National Hurricane Centre and the crew of the WC-130J also known as the “Hurricane Hunter” aircraft was arrived here yesterday for a one-day visit.
Mr. Da Souza said a greater level of accuracy in the prediction of weather events will result in improved preparedness in the various communities.
In addition to the regional and international agencies, Mr. Da Souza said the local Met service has a crucial role in the dissemination of information.
