The 2014 Fisherman’s month of activities will be officially launched here today under the theme: Fishing for Today’s Family creates a Healthy Society and the slogan “Fish to Survive and thrive.”
A release from the Fisheries Division says today’s launch will feature displays of several booths by agro processors and businesses relating to the fisheries sector.
There will also be fish dishes on sale.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at ten this morning at the compound of the National Fisheries Marketing Limited.
It will hear presentations from the Chairman of the Fisherman’s Day Committee Winsbert Harry, Acting Chief Fisheries Officer: Jennifer Cruickshank-Howard, and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, Raymond Ryan.
The feature address will be delivered by Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries Saboto Caesar.
Fisherman’s day 2014 will be held on Monday June 9th at the Calliaqua Fisheries Centre.
