Vincentian, Antonio Cain representing Grasroot Tennis Club here, won the 2014 Caribbean Junior Invitational Tennis Championship in Antigua and Barbuda yesterday with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Max Williams of St. Lucia in the Final.
Williams had beaten Cain in last month’s OECS Junior Tournament in St. Lucia.
On his way to the Title, Cain defeated Kyle Kerri of Trinidad and Tobago 4-2, 4-LOVE in their quarter-final encounter and beat Heinraj Resaul 4-2, 4-1 in the semi-finals.
Cain was voted Most Improved Player of the Tournament as well as the player who displayed the best Sportsmanship.
Akeil De Roche was the other member of the Grassroot Tennis Club’s Team at the Tournament which also included teams from Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.
