Zaria Cummings, Krystal Jacobs and Klarison De Freitas were all winners in the spelling Bee finals hosted by the Green Hill Sports and Cultural Club Inc. on Monday.
Seven year old Zaria Cummings defeated three other competitors in the 6-9 age group, to capture the trophy and a cash prize. Dearla Browne took the second position while Jalicia Straker placed third.
In the 10-13 age group, Krystal Jacobs emerged winner in her category capturing a trophy and a cash prize while Lenisha Jacobs had to settle for the second position and Loushana Peters and Jardel Williams shared the third spot.
Of the four competitors in the 14-16 division Klarison De Freitas was the winner, receiving a cash prize and a trophy. Janieka Straker was second and Nicole Sterling third.
The competition was re-introduced by the Green Hill Sports and Cultural Club Inc. after an 11 year absence.
The event is usually held to celebrate the anniversary of the organization which is celebrating 33 years as an NGO.
