The Clare Valley Government School will be involved in a series of activities from tomorrow to celebrate its 60th anniversary under the theme: Sixty Years of Moulding Minds and Building Characters.
Senior Teacher at the School, Elvina Abraham said the institution has progressed over the years, with the introduction of innovative ideas by Teachers who have joined the staff; along with technological advances.
Miss Abraham, who has given over thirty years of service to the institution, says the School has been able to progress, mainly because of community support and the dedication of the staff.
But she noted that the institution is facing some challenges.
The 60th anniversary celebrations will begin tomorrow with the school’s Annual Grade 5 Spelling Bee Competition. This will be followed by cleaning and painting of the school building on Friday and Saturday.
A highlight of the celebrations will be a Church Service on May 18th, one day after the actual anniversary.
The celebrations will culminate in August with an “old school dance”.
