The theatre and arts scene here will be taken to the next level as the staging of a musical is set to take place during this month.
The musical play which is dubbed “Kingstown: The Musical” is set to take place at the Tranquillity Bay hotel located at Indian bay. The story was written by Marc Erdrich and will feature “an ensemble cast” which include Brian Maloney, Jeremey Barbour and Deanna Hadaway- Carbon.
According to a news release, the entire production is directed by Erdrich. The production of the play will also see Ruth Boerger in charge of music, David “Darkie” Williams an icon in the Vincentian performing arts scene is the stage manager, Maxine Browne who is founder and artistic director of La Gracia Dance Company will provide choreography and Anthony Theobalds in charge of lighting.
The play is said to be appropriate for all age groups and will include 15 musical numbers ranging from classic soul to vincy folk music.
The release states persons are in for an experience that has never been offered in St. Vincent as the performance filled evening will also be an intimate one; stating that the venue has limited seating for about 45 persons at each performance.
Kingstown: The Musical, an original stage production will debut on May 16th and will proceed on 17th, 18th and on May 23, 24 and 25.
