Local Business Men and Women were recently involved in a Trade Mission to Martinique and Guadeloupe, as part of efforts to build stronger trading links with the French Departments.
The local delegates joined their counterparts from the OECS on the Mission, which was organized and funded by the OECS Competitive Business Unit and Caribbean Export Development Agency and the OECS EPA Implementation Unit.
Trade Officer and EPA Coordinator Okolo John-Patrick tells NBC News that the Business Mission served primarily as a means to bridge the gap between firms in the sub-region and Martinique and Guadeloupe in a number of key economic sectors.
Mrs. John-Patrick says the Mission provided participating firms the opportunity to be exposed to operations of enterprises in their respective sectors, and gain hands-on familiarity with European Union standards and best practices in business development.
The Mission to Martinique and Guadeloupe ran from Marcy 30th to April 5th.
