A call is being made for parents in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to take responsibility for the care and well being of their children.
The call came from Executive Director of VinSave, Janice Fraser, during the Views On Issues programme aired on NBC Radio on Sunday.
The discussion, which focused on the topic: “Protecting our children, safeguarding the future of our nation”, coincided with the culmination of activities to mark Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in April.
Miss Fraser said it is imperative that parents fulfill their parental obligations to their children.
Miss Fraser also pointed to a number of government-run programmes aimed at providing assistance to disadvantaged families.
