The ministry of education this morning officially launched activities for child month 2014 under the theme “tolerance today for a violence free world tomorrow” and slogan: Let Peace Begin with me.
Speaking at this morning’s launch Senior Education Officer for Early Childhood care and Education Gwenette Cambridge during her welcoming remarks said a packed programme of activities is being planned to highlight the role of children in making this country a better place.
Mrs. Cambridge is urging all stake holders in education to join the ministry in promoting the theme for this year’s activities.
Senior Education Officer for Early Childhood and Education Gwenette Cambridge and president of the National Association of Early Childhood Educators Rochelle Tanis urged parents and educators to take this month as an initiative to teach the children about conflict resolution and tolerance.
Other activities for child month include a national march and rally, peace workshops and poetry and art competitions.
