A Bequia Select Team defeated a National Lotteries Authority Select Team by 6 wickets in a Friendly 15-overs a-side Cricket match at the Clive Tannis Playing Field yesterday to mark the opening of the newly refurbished Players Pavilion.
Winning the toss and batting first, the National Lotteries Authority Select team made 173 for 5 off their 15-overs; Dawnley Joseph 56, Salvan Browne 41, Frederick Grant 40 not out, McNeil Morgan 10 not out.
Ellis Lavia 2 for 24 and there was a wicket each for Dean Browne, Razime Browne and Broxie Browne, Bequia Select 176 for 4 off 13.2-overs; Olanzo Billingy 83 not out, Dean Browne 41.
There was a wicket from Wendell Glasgow, Kenroy Martin, McNeil Morgan and Augustine Victory for the NLA Select Team.
Yesterday’s opening Ceremony heard remarks from Manager of the NLA Mac Gregor Sealey, Jules Anthony Chairman of the National Sports Council, Deputy Director of Grenadines Affairs Herman Belmar, Relton John President of the Bequia Cricket Association, Area Representative Godwin Friday and Minister of Sports Cecil McKie.
