Five business enterprises launched workplace policies on HIV and AIDS as the Labour Department join the rest of the world in observing World Day for Health and Safety at Work.
The enterprises are the national insurance services, general employee’s corporative credit union, central water and sewage authority, eastern Caribbean group of companies and the SVG Planned Parenthood association.
Speaking at this morning’s official signing Permanent secretary within the ministry of health Louis Deshong said the ministry of health has developed a national HIV, STI, TB policy frame work that will need support from business enterprises.
He highlighted some of the areas where sport would be needed.

And minister of labour and featured speaker at this morning’s event Maxwell Charles said the policy was well accepted by the government.
He said the policy was formed out of the need for a national response to formally recognize HIV and AIDS as a work place issue.
