Breaking the silence in today’s society of child abuse was the major message which echoed at the symposium hosted by the National Commission of Crime Prevention (NCCP).
The symposium which was held on Wednesday at the Methodist Church Hall saw key note speaker and Author Dr. Johnetta McSwain.
Ms. McSwain who opened up of her troubling childhood to students and other persons present said she was a victim of child abuse and she too was scared to speak out about it.
The Emmy Award winning documentarian and life coach said that as parents and adults it is their
responsibilities to educate and teach children to speak out if they are being hurt by someone.
