Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has been giving an update on the National Recovery effort, in the wake of the devastation caused by the floods of December 2013.
Speaking at a News Conference this morning, Dr. Gonsalves outlined the progress being made mainly in some areas, including agriculture and housing.
The Prime Minister expressed disappointment with the pace of disbursement of funds from the Farmers Support Company, which was set up to assist local Farmers, by proving loans to rehabilitate their Farms.
The Prime Minister said he is also dissatisfied with the pace of the distribution of fertilizer to the Farmers.
The Farmers Support Company was established in November last year.
Six million dollars was allocated to the Company in the 2014 Estimates, to be made available on loan to Famers, at a rate of two percent interest.
