Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie and West Kingstown secured the last two places in the semi-finals of the Senior Men’s Division of the Hairoun-DIGICEL National Community Football League on Thursday night at Victoria Park.
Barrouallie gained a narrow 2-1 victory in extra-time over Georgetown after they were levelled at 1-1 at the end of regulation time in which the Footballers from Georgetown dominated for most of the match.
Jomo Toppin scored in the 41st minute for Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie and netted his second goal in the last minute of the game which lasted 120 minutes of the game. Georgetown goal was scored in the 57th minute.
West Kingstown then came from behind to defeat Sion Hill 2-1 to secure their first semi-finals place in the three-year Tournament.
Juma Gilkes scored Sion Hill’s goal in the 25th minute, while Dorian Dallaway in the 46th minute and Curlan Joseph in the 80th minute for West Kingstown.
The semi-finals will be played over two legs on a home and away basis. Layou will meet National Lotteries Authority, Central Kingstown in one semi-final, with Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie opposing West Kingstown in the other.
The matches are scheduled for next Wednesday and Friday at the Victoria Park.
