Farmers, who received loans from the Banana Support Company, are being urged to ensure that they safeguard their investment by implementing good agricultural practices.
The appeal came from Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar during a News Conference last week as he provided an update on a number of issues.
Minister Caesar noted that over one thousand Farmers have submitted applications for loans to the company, which was established two months ago.
And he emphasized the importance of good farm management, for those who are receiving the funds.
The Ministry of Agriculture says it is seeking to have all the applications for loans from the Banana Support Company assessed by May 14th.
