The Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment is again appealing for the cooperation of the public in helping to ensure that there is no outbreak of the Chikungunya viral disease here.
Chairman of the National Surveillance Committee, Dr. Rosmond Adams says although there have been no confirmed cases of the disease here, person must remain vigilant.
The viral disease is spread by the Aedes Aegypti Mosquito, and some countries in the region have already reported confirmed cases, including; Dominica and St. Lucia.
Dr. Adams said the Ministry of Health has devised a National Plan to ensure that there is no outbreak of the virus here.
Dr. Adams said the Ministry of Health is also continuing to educate the public about Chikungunya, to ensure that the public is aware of the symptoms of the disease.
