Minister of Social Development Frederick Stephenson said many local institutions are continuing to benefit under the Juvenile Justice Reform Project.
He made this statement yesterday while addressing the opening of a two-day National training Conference organized by the Ministry of Social Development for local and regional stakeholders.
The Juvenile Justice Reform System which targets young people in the Eastern Caribbean, who have had to go through the Justice System is being undertaken by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS.
Minister Stephenson said Juvenile Justice Reform aims to ensure a complete overhaul and upgrade of the justice system of all countries in the region that are engaged in this project.
He says they want to ensure the total rehabilitation of all youths who come into contact with the law.
Minister Stephenson said they are also continuing to upgrade the relevant local institutions which will play a role in the Juvenile Justice Reform Project to ensure the success of this program.
