A shipment of brown sugar which was scheduled to arrive here tomorrow has been further delayed, and is now scheduled to arrive on April 26th.
According to information from the Agricultural Input Warehouse, AIW, the shipment has been further delayed, due to industrial action at the port in Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago.
The Agricultural Input Warehouse says it has been advised by the Port in Port of Spain that operations have now returned to some level of normalcy.
The AIW says its local Shipping Agent, Wills Agencies Limited, has advised that the trans-shipment of containers is now scheduled to arrive here on or about Saturday April 26th.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves had announced in Parliament last week that there would be a reduction
in the price of brown sugar.
The decrease took effect on Monday this week.
