Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has paid tribute to two fallen Caribbean stalwarts: Former Trinidad and Tobago President and Prime Minister Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson better known as ANR Robinson and Dr. Norman Girvan a former professor at the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago.
They both died yesterday.
Prime Minister Gonsalves described the Former Trinidad and Tobago President and Prime Minister ANR Robinson as a man of great courage.
The Prime Minister said the late ANR Robinson was a giant of a man who always sought to put the interest of his nation first.
He also expressed condolences to the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago on the passing of their Former President and Prime Minister Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister described the late Professor Norman Girvan as a personal friend, mentor and a Caribbean man of the highest quality.
Prime Minister Gonsalves also expressed condolences from the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the family and friends of the late Dr. Norman Girvan.
