The forestry department within the ministry of agriculture has expressed concern about the use of the rivers due to the recent disruption caused by the December 2013 floods.
Speaking on NBC’s face to face program this morning Senior Forestry Supervisor Cornelius Richards said critical parts had been wash away along with the aquatic life and will take a long time for the river to fully recover.
Mr. Richards said there is no law preventing persons from fishing, however he is making an appeal to the public not to harvest any wildlife species form the rivers this year to ensure that they recover to their fullest.
