Residents in Bequia will see major developments as it relates to water restoration and preservation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of a Caricom Workshop held here on Monday, Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment Luis Deshong said while climate change is increasingly becoming a vital national and global issue, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the
Environment is continuing its efforts to take action.
Mr. Deshong said the ministry is continuing its works with a USAID- OECS project, titled “reducing risks to human and natural assets from climate change”.

Mr. Deshong said, in addition to new developments on the grenadine island of bequia, the ministry also has in the pipelines, the regional disaster vulnerability reduction programme which is funded by the
World Bank. He said this includes the pilot programme for climate resilience.
