Holders Australia Women booked their place in their third successive ICC Women’s World Twenty/20 Cricket final with an eight-run victory over West Indies Women’s in Mirpur Bangladesh today.
Opener Elyse Villani top scored with 35 as Australia made a competitive 140 for 5 from their 20-overs.
The West Indies briefly threatened when Deandra Dottin (40) and Stacy-Ann King (36 not out) were together, but fell short after Dottin holed out.
West Indies openers Stafanie Taylor (24) and Kycia Knight (21) added 43 in seven overs thanks to some early boundaries before both fell in quick succession.
The final scores: Australia 140 for 5 off 20-overs, West Indies 132 for 4 off 20-overs.
England, winners in 2009 will meet South Africa in the second semi-final tomorrow.
