Two time defending champions Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie and their arch-rivals Layou have joined NLA Central Kingstown as qualifiers from Group A after contrasting results in the latest round of matches in the second round of the senior men’s division of the Hairoun National Community Inter-League Championships played at Victoria Park last evening.
BOSVG Barrouallie defeated Sion Hill in a keenly contested encounter by two 2-nil with prolific goal scorer Oalex Anderson netting both goals to carry his tally to 13 goal for the season.
In the other match of the double-header, Layou and NLA Central Kingstown played to a 1-1 draw is a very combative match.
Dennis Prescott scored for Layou while Azhino Solomon converted for NLA Central Kingstown.
The results mean that Sion Hill is faced with a MUST-WIN situation on Saturday when they face-off with Sea Operations Greggs at the Victoria Park.
Anything less than a win for the team Sion Hill possesses the best record for the first round will see Sea Operations Greggs advancing to the quarter finals at their expense.
