Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has hinted that the next General Elections may be held ahead of the 2015 constitutional deadline.
The Prime Minister hinted at this possibility, as he addressed supporters of the ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) at a rally held in Barrouallie on Saturday night to celebrate the party’s 13th anniversary in office.
Dr. Gonsalves, who is 67, also announced that the upcoming elections to be held between now and December 2015 will be his last as political leader.
He made an appeal for the supporters to elect him as political leader one last time.
The ULP will be seeking a fourth consecutive term in office in the next General Election.
Meanwhile Parliamentary Representative for Central Leeward Maxwell Charles said the Government will this year continue the process of distributing land to residents of Barrouallie.
