Plans are in the pipelines to launch a national Vanilla Production project in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This announcement came from Agricultural Minister Saboto Ceasar during an interview with NBC Radio.
Minister Ceasar explained vanilla is the second most expensive spice in the world outside of saffron. He said he see significant prospects in this country as it does not require any sort of mechanization to produce vanilla which is in great demand worldwide.
Mr. Ceasar noted there is an excellent opportunity for a Cocoa, Condiments and spice sector in this country. He added efforts continue to collaborate with the Grenadian government to reinvigorate the nutmeg industry here.
