Several Farmers have already benefited from the Farmers Support Company’s six million dollar Loan Program.
The first batch of farmers received their loans yesterday at an official Distribution Ceremony at the Agricultural Input Warehouse in Kingstown.
The Fund, which is as a result of a grant provided by the Venezuela-based PetroCaribe initiative, will provide concessionary loans to farmers at two percent interest.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Raymond Ryan told reporters yesterday that the Revolving Credit Facility is a timely intervention, given the challenges being faced globally.
Mr. Ryan added that in addition to the Loan, Farmers will receive Fertilizer and Tools on credit.
