Officials from the Ministry of Education are calling on teachers to do more to improve the speech aspect of literacy in the nation’s children.
This call was made by Education Officer Responsible for Litercay, Albena Jack, who said that the aspects of reading and writing continue to receive the most attention.
She said for the schools to develop fully rounded individuals then speech development is very important.
Mrs. Jack said while many Educators are now more aware of the different aspects of Language Arts, more needs to be done in the classrooms to develop all of these literacy strands.
