Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the Commonwealth has a very important role to play, regarding the issue of reparations for native genocide and African slavery.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Dr. Gonsalves said he communicated his position on the issue a meeting with Commonwealth Secretary General, His Excellency Kamalesh Sharma.
Noting that the discussion on reparations has commenced and will intensify, Dr. Gonsalves said the Commonwealth could help in facilitating more amicable discussions with Britain.
