St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been ranked 59th in the world in the 2012 assessment of countries which have made significant improvement in the delivery of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Director of Special Projects and ICT Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jerrol Thompson, said the ranking by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) focused on 11 developmental indices.
Speaking on NBC’s Views on Issues Program on Sunday, Dr. Thompson said the ranking is the result of the government’s efforts to develop an ICT-based society.
Dr. Thompson said such positive developments will help to encourage further investments in the country.
Sunday’s discussion focused on the topic “Information and Communication Technology – a pillar for National Development”.
