Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has expressed gratitude to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) for the provision of financial assistance in the aftermath of the December 2013 Trough system.
A cheque totaling 320-thousand US dollars was yesterday presented to the Government by the FAO at a ceremony at Cabinet Room.
Dr. Gonsalves said the grant funds will be used primarily for the rehabilitation of the agricultural sector, which suffered tremendous losses during the December floods.
Dr. Gonsalves said the assistance is being provided following a detailed damage assessment, which was conducted by the FAO.
