McCook College Lady Indians and Shaw University with Vincentian Players Shanique Mariam Frederick and TA-HER-SHA Verdine Warner won matches at the weekend in the United States College Basketball Tournament.
Frederick’s McCook College Lady Indians defeated Central College Columbus 77-60, with Frederick scoring 21 points, 20 rebounds and 11 blocks.
McCook College Lady Indians won the first half 46-25 and the lost the second half 30-35.
And, Shaw University with TA-HER-SHA Verdine Warner beat Johnson C. Smith 71-49. Ariel Hatcher was he leading scorer for Shaw University with 16 points and six rebounds, while Warner scored seven points and had nine rebounds.
The scores in the first half were leveled at 27 goal all tie and Shaw University led Central College Columbus in the second half 44-22.
Shaw University will meet Fayetteville State tomorrow afternoon from half past five.
