Some 100 metres of Bailey Bridges are expected to arrive here this week, as temporary replacements for the bridges which were destroyed during the floods of December last year.
This was disclosed by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, during a ceremony held in Buccament last Friday to distribute appliances to persons who lost their possessions during the floods.
The Prime Minister said they were seeking to have the Bailey Bridges shipped on the French vessel which arrived last Friday with humanitarian supplies, but this was not possible.
