Veteran regional Credit Union Official, Melvin Edwards, has commended the founding fathers of the credit union movement for their sterling contribution to the development of the sector.
Mr. Edwards was delivering Inaugural Lecture of the General Employees Cooperative Credit Union Ltd (GECCU), last night, given in honour of the contribution of founding member, Beryl Baptiste M.B.E.
He spoke on the topic: Credit Unions: A Pillar of Economic Growth and Development.
Mr. Edwards said the early efforts of these committed individual has resulted in the level of entrepreneurial growth experienced today.

Last night’s lecture was the first in a series focusing on GECCU’s contribution to its members in all spheres of life in St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the past fifty years.
