A New Umbrella Organization has been formed here to represent the interest of all Farmers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The National Agricultural Marketing and Production Agency NAMPA was launched on December 30, 2013.
It comprises representatives from sixteen Farmers Organizations and five Individual Farmers.
Executive Member and Agriculturalist Clive Bishop tells NBC News that the goal of the Agency is to provide this country with Sustainable food and Nutrition Security.
He says the Members will be focusing on seven specific functions which will form the work program for NAMPA.
Mr. Bishop says the Agency will be providing assistance to farmers who were impacted by the December 2013 Trough System.

A seven member executive has been elected to run the affairs of the Agency.
The Committee comprises Lennox Lampkin of the Bee Keepers Association; Norgie Tucker of the Pineapple Growers Corp; Leon Samuel from the Small Traffickers Association; Audrey Walters Butler, and Ingrid Neverson from the Women In Agriculture and Rural Development; Hazad Joseph from the Rabacca Area Farmers Cooperative and Clive Bishop representing the Vincentian Association of Organic Agriculture Movement.
