Judging for the preliminary round of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) Idea and Innovation Competition or I-Square Competition, will begin today
The competition is being held to encourage students to utilize technology to support national development.
Through this initiative the NTRC hopes to tap into the students’ creativity by challenging them to develop and present projects in the form of ideas and mobile applications that can implement new system or improve existing ones in the Public Service and state agencies
Universal Service Fund Project Officer at the NTRC, Shontel Murphy says such improvements can lead to cost savings or result in the faster delivery of such service.
Miss Murphy said the judging will be carried out in zones beginning with Zone A in Kingstown from 10:00 this morning.
Miss Murphy said the preliminary judging will continue in Zone B on Bequia on Wednesday followed by Zone B on the Leeward side of the Country. She said the final preliminary judging will take place in Zone B Union Island this Thursday.

Miss Murphy says forty-one entries were submitted for the competition, from Secondary, Technical and Tertiary Level Institutions.
