The Ministry of Transport and Works has pledged its full support to an OECS-funded project which will see the establishment of Rainwater Harvesting sites at shelters throughout the country.
The Project is being undertaken by the Reducing Risk to Human and Natural Assets Resulting from Climate Change (RRACC) project, with funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
A handing over ceremony was held on Wednesday for one phase of the project worth some 450 thousand dollars, which will see the construction of three facilities on the windward side of the country.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Works, Hudson Nedd, said the project complements the government’s efforts to address issues related to climate change.
Mr. Nedd said the Ministry will provide technical support to facilitate the successful completion of the project.
