A preliminary assessment is being carried out by the Forestry Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, to determine the impact of the Christmas flooding and landslides on the nation have forested areas.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme this week, Acting Director of Forestry, Fitzgerald Providence said most of the damage occurred along rivers and streams.

Meanwhile Senior Forestry Supervisor, Cornelius Richards said the preliminary assessment has so far shown that fallen trees contributed to the extreme flooding which occurred.
