The Buildings Roads and General Services Authority, BRAGSA has suspended mining operations in Rabacca and Brighton Bay until further notice.
The announcement was made by Chief Executive Officer of BRAGSA Deirdre Millington Myers during a News Conference yesterday.
Mrs. Millington Myers said the mining site at Rabbaca where persons source their materials for construction has been closed due to the failed bridge at Caratal, as heavy vehicles are not permitted to cross.
With respect to the Brighton site, she explained that problems encountered with wave action and high winds in the area make it unsafe for person’s to carry out this type of activity.
Mrs. Millington Myers said both sites will remain closed and the necessary announcements will be made when operations resume.
