The Integrated Vector Control Unit within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has been proactive in its daily operations and has identified the necessity and importance of fogging in these times.
This is in light of the recent torrential rains and floods, which caused flooding, landslides and loss of lives last week.
Supervisor of the Vector Control Unit, Todd Lewis says given the severity of the trough system that affected the island, the Unit has been assessing various areas of the island.
He says the aim is to identify possible new breeding sites, identification of possible new species and the assessment of hotspot zones.
He says the fogging operation will continue throughout the month of January.
