Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and Chairman of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, Baldwin Spencer says he is committed to lending support to the recovery efforts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He made this statement on Saturday during a Tour with Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves to the Windward side of the country, to assess the damages of Torrential rains and flooding on Christmas Eve night.
Prime Minister Spencer said while a full assessment has not been done, it is safe to say that the damage throughout the islands affected will cost hundreds of millions of dollars.
He said preliminary reports indicate that St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been worst hit.
Prime Minister Spencer said while the disaster will have an economic impact on the OECS, the region has to work together to find the mechanisms to assist the affected members states.
