Windiescricket.com said a tight bowling spell from St. Vincent and the Grenadines restricted Grenada to 171 for six of their 20-overs, despite half centuries from openers Lyndon Lawrence and Andre Fletcher.
Lawrence and Fletcher shared an opening partnership of 121 runs before Fletcher was bowled by Asif Hooper for 70, but that 70 runs came at the expense of three fours and seven sixes off 41 balls. Lawrence shared similar statistics for his 71 off 49 balls and blasted six fours and three sixes in the process.
Grenada were on course to overhaul St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ 175 for six but Delorn Johnson’s dismissals of Ronald Etienne for 5 and Denis George for 1 within the space of two balls turned the match in St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ favour. Hooper finished with three for 36 among the best bowlers for St. Vincent and the Grenadines in retaining the Twenty/20 Tournament.
Earlier, Donwell Hector 51 and Lindon James 39 helped the Vincentians to 175 under grey skies. The Grenadian bowlers gave away an additional 22 runs in extras including 12 no balls. Denis George with three for 25 and Ronald Etienne two for 38 were the best bowlers.
