Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys won the 2013 National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Twenty/20 Cricket Championship at the Dauphine Playing Field on Sunday beating CGM Gallagher Novice by one wicket.
In a pulsating Final, the new champions dethroned 2012 champions CGM Novice winning off the final delivery to secure a memorable victory.
SCORES: CGM Gallagher Novice 169 for 8 off 17.5-overs when rain ended their innings; Renrick Williams cracked 76 including 12 sixes. He shared a second wicket partnership of 115 with Hyron Shallow who made 24 and Elton Williams; Eldon Morris took three for 24, Stein Joseph 2 for 28.
Set 170 to win, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys reached their target off the last ball; Eldon Morris 49 including five sixes and three fours, Stein Joseph 33 four sixes and two fours, Zavique Alexander 21, Travis Cumberbatch 19 not out; Desron Spring 3 for 17, Roderick John 2 for 31, Westrick Strough 2 for 38.
And in the third place play-off, EZ Toppaz defeated Gomea Bombers by 3 wickets. The scores: Gomea Bombers 71, EZ Toppaz 72 for 7.
