Christmas lights will be turned on the Carriere community this Friday, as the Carriere Nine Mornings Committee officially launches its 2013 Christmas and Nine Mornings Programme.
The launch and lighting activity which will be hosted by members of the Carriere Community, as part of the count down to the 100 years anniversary of Nine Mornings on December 24.
The launch will take place on the Carriere main road and will take the form of a concert with performances from various church groups within the community.
Pastor Adolphus Isaacs of the Mesopotamia Gospel Hall Assembly will present the exhortation.
Performances will come from the Bowmans, Bassy Alexander, Rose Hall Cultural and Development Organization and the Carriere String Band.
Deputy Chairman of the National Nine mornings Committee, Lennox Bowman will give remarks at the event.
This year marks 11 years since Carriere has been participating in organized nine mornings’ activities. The village has won Best Nine Mornings Community on four occasions and Best Christmas Community on two occasions.
Nine Mornings in the community will begin on December 16th from 4am.
