Local efforts to reform the regional integration process has received a major boost with a working visit by Caricom Secretary General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, and other high ranking officials of the Caricom Secretariat.
Mr. LaRocque and his team will be engaged in a two-day consultation with senior public servants on the Caricom Reform Process.
Speaking at this morning’s opening at Cabinet Room, Mr. LaRocque said it is the culmination of a series of consultations being held across the region to solicit the views of Caricom nationals on the integration reform process. And, Director of the Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU), Ambassador Elsworth John, said the findings of these consultations will be discussed at a high level Caricom meeting to be held here in February next year.
