The Anglican Archdeaconry of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will host its annual Advent Mission Service on Sunday December 1st at 9:30 am at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.
The annual Advent Mission Service marks the start of the season of Advent which signals the beginning of the church’s year and will be celebrated under the theme: “Anglicans depening the bonds of affection – through an abiding relationship with Jesus.”
The Service will be preceded by a procession of witness of Clergy and Laity in the Archdeaconry.
The sermon will be presented by Trinidadian born preacher Reverend Shelly Ann Tenia. Revered Tenia has a BSc in Psychology with a Minor concentration in Human Services Counseling at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Virginia) and a Master of Divinity (Virginia Theological Seminary) USA.
She is an Anglican Priest in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago and currently serves as the Priest in Charge of Holy Saviour Parish, Curepe, Trinidad.
Revered Tenia has worked as a House Manager at The Dwelling Place, a Homeless Family Shelter, as a Social Worker at Credo Centre for Boys, and has volunteered with various NGO’s and FBO’s which do outreach to vulnerable communities and families.
She was ordained Deacon by Bishop Calvin Bess on May 14th, 2005 and to the priesthood on October 28th, 2006.
The Advent Mission Service will commence at 9 30 am on Sunday December 1st. A cultural afternoon organized by the Youth Ministry within the Archdeaconry will commence at 2:00 pm.
