The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust’ Contribution Book will be reopened next week Monday November 11th, following this Country’s Representative returning to the state on the weekend, following a one-week visit to London.
Country Representative Rene Baptiste in a release says durg her visit to London, she held a separate meeting with Chief Executive of the Jubilee Trust and her top manager, Dr. Astrid Bonfield.
The release says during the meeting at the Trust’s Headquarters, Ms. Baptiste tabled the St. Vincent and the Grenadines report and looked at the plans for reaching the National Target of 20 thousand EC dollars.
According to the release, Ms. Baptiste believes there are sources here that have not yet been tapped, hence the opening of the Contribution Book next week.
She has issued a special appeal to persons who have been honored by the Queen to make use of the opportunity to make their contributions.
In the meantime, the Jubilee Trust is preparing to make its first distribution of funds to countries with programmes to combat blindness, and India appears to be the first recipient.
The other recipients will be organisations that promote youth involvement programmes, including leadership and community action.
The release also says Ms. Baptiste has made an early case for this country in regard to its Trust Executives.
Ms. Baptiste was among 150 guests who met with Her Majesty The Queen. The trust has met its first target of 50 million pounds.
