The National Christmas and Nine Mornings Committee will convene a meeting tomorrowof representatives of community Groups and Organizations which are involved in staging Christmas and Nine Mornings activities.
Tomorrow’s meeting will discuss issues such as: the 100 years celebrations and 100 days countdown, improved programming, innovations to the festival, finance and sponsorship, the various community competitions, promotion and organizational strengthening.
The forum will also hear progress reports from the communities that have begun preparations and any challenges they are encountering.
The SVG Christmas/Nine Mornings festival which takes place throughout the month of December will be officially launched on Sunday 1st December with a street parade, Christmas Concert and Lighting of Heritage Square.The early morning concerts in Kingstown will be held from 16th to 24th December.
The Nine Mornings Committee launched a special 100 days countdown on September 16th as a build up to the 2013 festivities.
Already there have been community programs in Richland Park, Park Hill and Point Village. The village of Rose Bank will be host its programe tonight, with a packed program featuring The Bowmans, CP Hall and the launch of a Christmas album by Rawlo. There will also be several cultural presentations from the village, including boom drum.
The 2013 Nine Mornings festival is being celebrated under the theme: Celebrating 100 years of a unique Vincentian Tradition.
The Nine Mornings community Meeting takes place at the Memorial Hall from ten tomorrow morning.
In attendance will be officials from the Ministry of Culture and the SVG Nine Mornings Committee.
